Boyton Mission hall was founded by Percy James Tyler October 19th 1929, he died in 1981 and Derek Pledger took on the role of leader in 1983, significantly Mrs Strollery an active member of the mission prayer continuously for 15 years for a new leader and Derek continued to lead the mission for 28 years. Steve Dart followed Derek for a further 10 years, both gentlemen worked at the colony, Derek as a prison officer and Steve as an electrician for 47 years.  

Derek facilitated services at the Mary Warner home and several of those residents attended Boyton Mission. 

Whilst Steve's approach was different, he fulfilled his desire to make the building more amendable installing a toilet which was badly lacking in the building unfortunately the local council had condemned the outside pipework which made this desire more difficult. However, as a much-needed facility in today's modern times and to honour the hard work and dedication of both Steve and his son Andrew to the mission the present trustees with agreement from the attendees arranged for a septic tank to be fitted enabling the building to become more up to date and accessible. 

The Mission is a hall of  Worship, it welcomes all walks for life young and old, the healthy, the sick, the poor, for those that wish to search and find Jesus for themselves it is a place of calm, understanding a place of sanctuary. 

Our belief is that salvation is found only in Jesus Christ God's Son, and through that belief and trust in him you receive eternal life.

 

On 1 October 2024, Evg. Momino Chacko and family took initiative to revive the Boyton mission.

On 8 December 2024, Boyton Mission Hall was re-dedicated for mission by Pastor P.A George under the spiritual leadership of Pastor Finny George. Boyton Mission is currently served by Pr. Finny George, Evg. Charles Riddleston and Evg. Momino Chacko.
